In this role, you will operate and maintain assigned area measurement and control facilities and schedule and perform all work related to the daily operation and maintenance of assigned measurement and control facilities as listed: Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) Systems and other electrical components; orifice, positive displacement, turbine, rotary and ultrasonic measurement, control valves, actuators, controllers, positioners, relief valves, regulators, remote set points, chromatographs, sampling systems, gas quality analysis, communication devices, computers, AC and DC circuitry. This will include the testing, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of such devices. Work will be performed on an individual basis and when needed, schedule others to assist and acting as lead, work from engineering drawings, sketches and diagrams, and work with Gas Control, Measurement Support Services and customers to maintain gas flow to customers. In addition, you will maintain spare parts, equipment and other maintenance inventory and must have knowledge of ideal gas laws and perform flow calculations. You will work with customers, property owners, contractors, BWP Engineers, area staff, and Measurement Services for meter station plans. Works closely with the Measurement Analysis group on daily, weekly and monthly system balancing issues and will be required to travel to other measurement areas to perform job duties in the absence or to assist other Specialists. This position has extensive daily travel within assigned area and occasional overnight travel. You must be familiar with utilizing computerized compliance tracking systems, GIS, Oracle, O&M Manual and other computer-based software and able to operate, calibrate and maintain all equipment within DOT and company requirements. As needed, you may be required to assist some of the other field operational groups with normal Operations & Maintenance activities and also in emergency type situations.

The successful candidate will be required to maintain their primary place of residence within 30 miles of either the Jacksonville, TX or Longview, TX office locations.


Natural gas measurement experience; pipeline and compressor station experience is preferred

Thorough understanding of the operating principles of all types of orifice meters, ultrasonic meters, rotary meters, positive meters, turbine meters, relief valves and regulation and other measurement related equipment

Thorough understanding of gas flow

Advanced computer skills and troubleshooting skills

Self-motivated and able to develop, follow and prioritize a schedule with very limited supervision

Must be able to multi task and meet deadlines on all compliance and other scheduled activities

Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. items a minimum of 50 feet in order to transport testing equipment and material from vehicle to company facility metering site

Ability to work in extreme ambient temperatures situations to operate, test and repair facilities

Valid driver s license and a good driving record

High school diploma or equivalent

Strong commitment to personal and team safety


Applicable Associate s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience

3-5 years of natural gas measurement experience

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
